Taoist Funeral Service - Teochew Packages

The Teochew Funeral Service Package includes essential casket services, professional setup of the wake venue, and the guidance of a Teochew ceremonial master who oversees all rituals up to the funeral day, as well as post-funeral care services.

According to Teochew funeral customs, it is customary for the children of the bereaved family to offer rice and brown sugar to the deceased. This meaningful act symbolises their deep appreciation and gratitude towards their parents, who lovingly provided sustenance, care, and shelter throughout their lives.

On the final night of the funeral service, our Taoist priest team conducts the Bridge Crossing Ceremony in the Teochew dialect. This bridge, known as the Nai He Qiao, symbolises the soul’s passage from the earthly realm to a better place. This ceremony is regarded as an essential rite in Taoist funeral services within the Teochew community.

At the conclusion of the prayers, handcrafted paper tributes are burned as final offerings to the deceased. These tributes include items such as a paper house, paper servants, and paper mountains in gold and silver colours.
